Terms and Conditions — The Big Chapter

1. Our Services

The Big Chapter provides legacy storytelling services including, but not limited to, memoirs, biographies, audio productions, documentary films, archival services, and retained historian engagements. The specific scope, deliverables, and timeline of each project are agreed in a written engagement letter between you and The Big Chapter.

2. The Story Snapshot

The Story Snapshot is offered without charge or obligation. It is a guided conversation intended to help you understand the story you are carrying and recommend a suitable next step. Receiving a Story Snapshot does not create any obligation to proceed with a paid engagement.

3. Ownership of Stories and Materials

You retain ownership of the personal stories, photographs, recordings, documents, and other materials you share with us. The Big Chapter is granted the limited rights necessary to produce the agreed deliverables. Any additional use (for example, in our portfolio or marketing) requires your prior written consent.

4. Fees and Payment

Fees, payment milestones, and refund terms for each engagement are set out in the relevant engagement letter. Unless otherwise stated, fees are quoted in Nigerian Naira and exclude any applicable taxes.

5. Timelines and Delivery

We will use reasonable efforts to meet agreed delivery dates. Timelines depend in part on your timely participation in interviews, reviews, and the provision of source materials.

6. Confidentiality

We treat all materials and conversations as confidential. We will not disclose your story or materials to third parties without your consent, except where required by law or where strictly necessary to deliver the engaged services (for example, to printers or production partners under confidentiality).

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, The Big Chapter's liability arising out of or in connection with any engagement is limited to the fees paid for that engagement.

8. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
