About Us

We exist so that the most important African lives are not forgotten.

A multigenerational African family

Our Purpose

For too long, the most remarkable African stories have been told by outsiders — or never told at all.

The Big Chapter exists to change that. We are a team of storytellers, writers, filmmakers, audio producers, and historians, based in Nigeria, working across Africa and the diaspora. We sit with the people who lived the story. We listen with patience. And we shape what we hear into something that lasts.

We listen first.

Every project begins with a conversation, not a contract. The Story Snapshot is complimentary because we believe in the story before we believe in the sale.

We craft like it matters.

Hardcover books. Cinematic films. Studio-grade audio. Every artefact we produce is built to be picked up by a grandchild fifty years from now.

We tell it truthfully.

From the inside, in your own voice, on your own terms. The most important thing about a legacy is that it is told honestly by the people who lived it.

Why Work With Us

The Big Chapter Heart.

Our proprietary approach to every story we tell.

1. We find the heart of the story.

Before we write a word or shoot a frame, we go looking for what the story is really about — what happened, what it meant, and why it matters.

2. We shape it like a great film.

Every story follows a structure that gets to the heart — the setup, struggle, and a resolution that always lands on hope. No matter how hard the middle chapters are, the story we tell ends with the subject overcoming.

3. We never lose the joy.

Even in stories about struggle and loss, The Big Chapter Heart looks for what's worth celebrating. A life well lived is never just survived. It's honoured.

4. We stay human, always.

We partner with technology to help us work faster, but it never decides what matters. Every story is shaped, judged, and finished by a person who cares about getting it right.

Who We Serve

Individuals, families, and institutions across Africa and the African diaspora.

Founders. Matriarchs. Patriarchs. Schools. Churches. Companies. Any life or institution whose story deserves more than memory — and whose people are ready to begin.
